This was the first version of the pond, built in 1993. At first we were thinking about just a shallow pond, but decided the fish needed deeper water for temperature considerations and protection from marauders. (Scroll Down for more pictures)

The rocks were removed, the center was dug down to 32" with a 12"deep 8"wide shelf around most of the edge. Then the liner was put in place, the pond flooded, and stepping stones replaced .
